Comet 103P/Hartley and the Double Cluster
Comet Hartley is a periodic comet that orbits the sun every 6.5 years.  Its size is about a mile diameter,
and will be be the target of a 500 mile flyby of the Deep Impact Spacecraft on November 4, 2010. On
the night of this image, the comet was about 20 million miles from earth.

This image combined 10 exposures, each 100 seconds, with a QSI-583 camera through a Takahashi
Sky 90 at f/4, unguided on an AP 900 mount. The video combined 60 exposures evenly spaced over 2
hours, displayed at 5 frames per second.
