The Southern Pinwheel Galaxy M83
Spiral Galaxy M83, also called the Southern Pinwheel, skirts the horizon at a lowly -30 declination in the
constellation Hydra.  M83 is one of the finest examples of a barred spiral galaxy.  It lies at a distance of about 15
million light years.

This image combined 30 minutes of red, 35 minutes green and 50 minutes of blue exposures, all unbinned.  An
ST2000XM camera was used through an Astro-Physics 4" refractor at the Winter Star Party in Florida.
